Verdict

An opportunity for the Oaks form to be upheld and we take Epsom eighth MOMENTUS to do so. Ralph Beckett's filly hadn't been too far away in the Lingfield Classic trial and she can make experience count in a race that will produce plenty of future winners. Bright Beacon is a half-sister to St Leger winner, Masked Marvel, so the Godolphin inmate is likely to be doing her best work at the finish. Long View hails from a family that is very well known to Sir Michael Stoute and the trainer has elected to try her in a visor on her first visit to the racecourse. Sona was acquired as a yearling for a cool 550, 000 guineas and connections have clearly been in no hurry to get to the racecourse. A career as a broodmare seems likely in the longer term so any success is sure to enhance her paddock value.
