In depth

Verdict

Hawridge Prince improved out of all recognition last season and should be good enough to beat this decent field, The Last Drop and Geordieland look the main dangers. The selection was rated just 90 in mid-summer but ended the campaign with an emphatic victory in a Group three at Newmarket. His current rating is 111, but the way he won last time suggests that could be a little lenient and if fit for his return he should prove hard to beat. Geordieland's second behind Yeats in the Goodwood Cup is solid form in the context of this event and following a recent run at Kempton he should be spot on for this. The Last Drop ended last campaign with an excellent run in the Woodbine International and should take full advantage of the nine pounds he recieves from the selection. However if Hawridge Prince starts this season as he finished the last he will be hard to beat this afternoon.
