In depth

Verdict

Flying Spirit appears the most likely option in this seller with Indian Star and Cornish Flame the alternatives. There is no getting away from how moderate this contest is but Flying Spirit, who was once a regular at better grades, does at least have a touch of class about him and he can record what is a long overdue success tonight. Indian Star has won his last two plating contests. He loves fast ground and is entirely capable if getting his own way. Cornish Flame has proved expensive to follow but is dropped into this sphere for the first time. Marktic Flyer has it to do on the figures but the Scudamores are sending out winners and the market has to be watched. Oceans Grand hasn¿t shown a lot since leaving Ireland to join current connections. Call Out has proved thoroughly muleish on two starts. Kandora is exposed as a modest novice hurdler. Troublesome Gerri shows her better work in smaller fields while Silver Island is exposed as poor. Oscar Ireland makes a debut for Liam Corcoran having recently been claimed out of Ralph Beckett¿s stable on the flat. A bad race and Flying Spirit looks best placed to pick it up.
