Verdict

A terrific contest for the time of year and BUCK MULLIGAN is no more than a tentative selection. Evan Williams' six-year-old travelled strongly for a long way in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen last month but eventually finished behind both Pilgrims Lane and North Island. This better ground will suit however, and slightly better off at the weights, it would be no surprise if he turned the tables and came out on top overall here. Sir Ian tends to reserve his best for Worcester, but Life Of A Luso goes well here though this represents a step up in grade. The consistent Hoo La Baloo may prove the pick of Paul Nicholls' trio and the versatile Mamlook is also interesting, though he hasn't raced since finishing well beaten in the Chester Cup on the Flat. I'm A Legend was pulled up on his reappearance but may still be the pick of the remainder.
