In depth

Verdict

Belski, from an in-form yard, can see off the challenges of Java Sea and Con Tricks, with Cyindien likely to figure as well. Colin Tizzard has his team in tip-top shape, as proved with a treble one day last week, and although Belski has an absence to overcome, the 10 year-old makes some appeal with Mick Fitzgerald booked to ride. Belski has progressed through the pointing and hunter-chase ranks, finishing second on each of his three starts over regulation fences in the past, including twice here. Although no world-beater, he should give another honest account, with his yard's runners seemingly fit enough at present. Java Sea comes from a top yard but like Con Tricks has not raced since March 2002. Java Sea was getting too high in the weights over hurdles so going fencing is the obvious route, and he should be followed this season when fully fit. Cyindien needed his return to action at Haydock, his first outing in 11 months, and is sure to have been well schooled over fences. For the winner we return to Belski.
