Verdict

Caledonia Princess is likely to be outclassed but hopefully along with Rodrigo De Torres and Advanced she'll help set this race up for BATED BREATH. Roger Charlton's colt lost his unbeaten record here last time but looked to race on the wrong part of the track when third behind Dafeef. He was giving the Godolphin runner 3lbs in that handicap and we'd be confident that the form will be reversed off level weights here, with Bated Breath perhaps the only one of these who should still be improving after just four starts and the ground evidently no problem. Dafeef should once again acquit himself well as he bids to defend an unbeaten course and distance record while of that front-running trio already mentioned Rodrigo De Torres is expected to fare best. He holds Mon Cadeaux on their meeting in the Jersey Stakes so more of a threat could come from Sir Gerry who is smart on his day and has form on soft ground, while Doncaster Rover will also attract support in what is a fascinating contest.
