Verdict

LADY FRANCES only scored at Catterick last time, form not normally associated with winners of competitive Newmarket sprints, but she clearly relished the drop to the 6f trip and could have speed to burn here off a very workable mark. She'll have to improve again but that tends to frequently be the case with Johnston inmates and she's well worth a shot. Golden Steps is developing into a very reliable performer in these tough sprint handicaps and seems sure to be involved at the business end after only being raised 1lb for a creditable third behind Deeds Not Words last time. The latter has to be respected too but may not be so effective under quicker conditions. The main threat to the selection could be Fast Track. He's put in two very solid efforts this term and may well have been laid out for this by shrewd connections and should be spot-on on the back of a really good run at Haydock recently. Major Jack and Our Queenie are also noted in a very interesting contest.
