In depth

Verdict

Just two with previous racecourse experience and it would be no surprise if, as in the first race, this fell to a newcomer. David Loder has been in tremendous form of late and will be hopeful of adding to the tally with either Sussex or Rinjani. The former is beautifully bred being by Danehill out of the former Fillies Triple Crown heroine Oh So Sharp and holds a stack of big race entries so looks the stable first string with Frankie Dettori on board but Rinjani, who also boasts an entry in the Royal Lodge, was an expensive yearling and can't be ruled out. Sir Michael Stoute has a strong entry with Alphecca, Lord Mayor and Major Effort representing the Freemason Lodge handler. Alphecca, who hails from the same family as Storm Bird and has entries in both the Royal Lodge and the Derby may prove the stable pick. John Dunlop saddles Muhaymin, who makes plenty of appeal on paper being by A P Indy out of a 1,000 Guineas winner, while Barry Hills has a strong team of juveniles and is doubly represented by Mouftari and Southern Bazaar to add further spice to a race that is sure to produce plenty of future winners.
