      Verdict

      Most of these are looking to bolster their 2000 Guineas claims with RIVET the only Group 1 winner in the field. He won the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October with Contrapposto well beaten. War Decree’s defeat of subsequent Group 1 winner Thunder Snow in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood in July gives the Ballydoyle colt a chance with the selection on collateral form though he hasn’t raced since then. Larchmont Lad won a Group 3 over 7f here in September and the Hannon yard has a good recent record in this while the likes of Eminent and Benbatl are the least exposed but the latter has Dante and Derby entries rather than the Guineas. Gulliver has won a maiden at York but still plenty to find on that form.
