Verdict

An open looking maiden and the vote goes to GOLDEN ARIA over Ellbeedee and Gertrude Bell. Richard Hannon's filly is a nice type and she has shaped with promise on both of her visits to the racecourse. She is upped in trip today which should suit her as she certainly wasn't stopping over 7f last time and she is taken to open her account. Ellbeedee could be the fly in the ointment as she catches the eye on breeding and it is worth noting that the yard had a winning juvenile at Yarmouth earlier in the week. John Gosden continues in good form so Gertrude Bell has to be of interest on her racecourse bow, while Henry Cecil won this race last year and his newcomer Timepiece is certainly worth a market check on his debut. The market may provide a few clues but Golden Aria sets a fair standard and gets the vote.
