Verdict

A good quality maiden with OTTOMAN EMPIRE and Alhaque the form picks but there are a number of promising types in opposition. If Native Ruler goes close in the Dante on Wednesday then Ottoman Empire could be sent off at a short price as he made the Cecil Derby hope work fairly hard to land his maiden at Beverley. Alhaque has been burdened with a tall reputation that he has yet to live up to although he has had the misfortune to bump into some fair sorts during his career and may yet find a race or two with this drop back in trip seemingly in his favour judged on recent evidence. Flame Of Gibraltar is an expensive purchase from a very smart family, she has a Ribblesdale entry and is a fascinating contender although stablemate Gripsholm Castle wasn't exactly cheap at 260,000 euros and is the firs foal of a smart American mare. Xtra Special represents a top yard, Twisted made a promising debut behind a stablemate in a maiden that has worked out well whilst Golden Rock and Mared both did enough on debut to think that they'll be winning races. They've a deal of improvement to make if it's to be this one though and we'll stick with the form pick, Ottoman Empire.
