Verdict

This is a very tricky conditions event for two-year-olds and we will take a chance on Salute Him, with Lord Jack Flash and Cool Creek put forward as the main rivals. Mick Channon's colt was most impressive when landing a recent Folkestone maiden. He was very green in the early stages but eventually got the hang of things to wear down Lyrical Blues in the closing stages. The third home has been successful since so he form could be fairly decent. He looks to have plenty of scope for improvement and should make it back to back wins. Lord Jack Flash also made a winning debut, beating a modest looking bunch at Yarmouth. He was also a little backward and should come on for the run. The same applies to Richard Hannon's Cool Creek, a close up third behind Glenmuir at Kempton. The stables juveniles tend to improve for their first run and he should be involved in the finish. The field is completed by the selection's stable companion Wovoka, who disappointed over the week-end, and the Akehurst newcomer Bijli. So a fascinating event and Salute Him looks the best option.
