In depth

Verdict

Custard The Dragon gets a change of headgear after a disappointing effort behind PORTLEDGE (NAP) here last time. The latter has now won four times over course and distance in only nine outings at the track and another bold bid is expected from James Bethell’s charge. Deansgate has also been in good form here and went close again last month while Followthesteps has plenty of scope for further progress now handicapping after finishing second at Wolverhampton recently. The Great Wall ran below par in a higher grade at Southwell last time but should be sharper for that first start since July.
