Verdict

With only one of these having raced over this trip this looks a hard race to solve but we will plump for Joe Di Capo ahead of Hades De Sienne and Bold Navigator. The selection has slipped to a reasonable handicap mark and having shown ability on all types of ground will not be inconvenienced in any change in the going. He ran well in a similar race at this meeting last season and will have benefited from his recent spin at Aintree. His style of racing suggests he will appreciate this step up in trip and he should go well at a price. Hades De Sienne boasts the best recent form in the race finishing second for today's jockey recently at Kelso and races off the same mark today. Bold Navigator had some useful form last season and is bred to stay this trip but will need the heavens to open to show his best form. Sireric has at least proved he stays this trip with no problems but would ideally like the ground much softer. Rosalyons was the best hurdler of these but his chase form is well below that level and can be overlooked here. Joe Di Capo it is then to outstay his rivals and record his first victory since landing a novice hurdle event at this track over two years ago.
