Verdict

The Handicapper may be getting the measure of Autumn Rain and it will be a good effort from the gelding if he can go-in off an 8lb higher mark than for his latest success. However, he has done very little wrong this term and warrants plenty of respect at this level. He goes well for today's rider and, even though he has to give lumps of weight away all round, he should go close to landing the seasonal hat-trick. Ballyhurry posted his best effort for quite some time at Musselburgh last time and the step back up to 10 furlongs should pose fewer problems than the anticipated firm ground. Gudlage also tackles a more suitable trip here but has failed to get his head in front since his juvenile days and has become expensive to follow. Zagaleta ran as if needing the outing last time and can be expected to give a better account of herself, assuming that she does not get too worked up in the preliminaries.
