In depth

Verdict

More trouble for punters here with a wide open handicap and so a narrow vote is given to Trans Sonic, with Xpres Maite and Top Dirham put forward as the main rivals. Alan Jarvis's three-year-old landed a couple of all-weather handicaps earlier in the year but was a little disappointing for most of the summer. However he bounced back to form with a sound effort behind Violet Ballerina last time and a similar effort this afternoon could be good enough to land the spoils. Xpres Maite doesn't know how to run a bad race. He is steadily dropping down the weights again and must be considered for each-way purposes. Top Dirham is one that could go well at a big price. The handicapper is definitely loosening his grip on this one and it would be no surprise to see him involved in the finish. Greenbelt is another that could go close on the pick of his form, but our idea of the winner is Trans Sonic.
