Verdict

The form of Frank Sonata's debut seventh at Newbury has worked out pretty well, and he can improve sufficiently to land this contest. Mick Quinlan's son of Opening Verse made some late headway that day and this is a weaker event. Nessun Dorma has been second on both of his runs so far and the step up to seven should suit, so he's one for the shortlist. Others to consider are Jamie Osborne's Regulated, a good second over this trip at Leicester last time, Habitual Dancer, who made late headway at Pontefract last time, Good To Go, who'll relish the step up to seven, and Charlotte Vale, who is also stepping up in distance. Of the others, Classic Event showed some promise on his debut and could be capable of better. Overall, though, Frank Sonata is a sporting choice, with Regulated and Good To Go possibly the biggest dangers.
