Verdict

Sento is a sporting bet selection to beat Blackchurch Mist and course and distance winner Red Canyon in an open affair. Alan King's charge was a beaten favourite at Huntingdon, his cause not helped by a mistake at the last which probably cost him a place. A slow learning sort, he managed to open his account at Newton Abbot in April, and with the ground easing due to the recent rain, his stamina will come into play. With Robert Thornton again in the plate, we feel that he has every chance of getting recent losses back. Blackchurch Mist looks just about held by the selection on Huntingdon form, but should be involved before eventually going chasing in the autumn, while Red Canyon, successful over track and trip last summer, is much higher in the weights now and needs a reprieve from the handicapper. Of the rest, Quel Bon Choix should pay to follow in this type of event, having been narrowly beaten here the time before last, and Avalon Buck was fancied on his last start at Southwell but was pulled up. As stated it is a tricky start for punters, but Sento can make the frame at least.
