Verdict

A poor handicap hurdle here with many of them out of form and Pendle Forest is taken to land it, with Sol Run possibly next best. The selection has been running well in defeat over this sort of trip of late, and has won here on heavy ground a few seasons ago. With nothing else red hot coming into the race then he can pick up the win his recent efforts deserve. Sol Run was making progress when falling five out last time, and conditions and trip both suit, so with a clear round he can prove to be a threat. Mey Clouds drops back in trip here which may prove a positive, and as one who represents an in-form yard and who appreciates plenty of cut he has to be taken seriously. A 5lb drop in the ratings will help Bumper, who was well beaten at Ayr last time but has his conditions and can finish closer. Hardybuck is another with frame claims but in a race not to dwell on for too long Pendle Forest looks the one to be on.
