      Verdict

Ace Baby showed the benefit of previous experience when landing a Nottingham maiden on Wednesday and has to be respected but he has more to do here against Wovoka, who is taken to follow up his Musselburgh success with the only other previously raced horse in the field, William John, the only other likely danger. The selection created a favourable impression when beating nine rivals at Musselburgh, belying his inexperience, and with the softer surface unlikely to be of much hindrance, Mick Channon's colt is taken to follow up. Ace Baby showed promise first time out and duly opened his account at Nottingham but the son of First Trump made hard work of that success and this looks a tough assignment. The newcomers make limited appeal, with the speedily-bred Dispol Shabama probably making most appeal on pedigree but it is never easy for the fillies against the colts at this time of year and of more interest may be William John, who was thought good enough to run in the Brockelsby on his debut and should improve for his respectable eighth at Town Moor. Seesawmilu, who is bred to handle cut in the ground but may want further, is another newcomer worthy of a mention but Wovoka holds an obvious chance and gets the vote.
