Nothing bomb-proof in this maiden and although the experienced trio of Northside Prince, Barbarian and Implication set a fair standard, it is SEVERIO who is nominated to improve past the lot. Two runs over seven furlongs have suggested that this daughter of Caption Rio needs a longer trip such as today. Her pedigree also suggests that she should appreciate this soft ground and this well-related filly is given the nod. Implication has run well on this sort of ground before and she looks an obvious player in maiden company again, Northside Prince and Duke Of Burgandy are proven stayers and neither should mind the drop in trip, whilst Barbarian has plenty of experience and a second to Fajita in June stands out as a fair piece of form. Nothing else makes too much appeal and so it is Severio who is given the vote.
