In depth

Verdict

Not short of top class over hurdles, Jair Du Cochet made a pleasing debut over jumps in Britain when successful at Folkestone earlier this month and with more improvement to come, particularly over this trip and further, it will be a surprise if Guillaume Macaire's five-year-old does not win again. He is the TEAMtalk selection. Nicky Henderson's Huntingdon winner Scots Grey and the Paul Nicholls-trained Ask The Natives (had been going well when falling in Rising Stars Novices' Chase won by Bindaree two years ago) who finally came good over fences when successful at Fontwell, provide the main dangers along with Irish raider Bennie's Pride and the unexposed Sir Rembrandt but, granted a clear round, the French gelding should have too much class.
