In depth

Verdict

Crooks Peak has dropped to a lenient mark but has struggled this season. Sebastopol is back on a winning mark but is another who has had a disappointing campaign and Hang In There also needs to rediscover his best form. SCARAMANGA is having a first run since third in a Listed handicap at Ascot in October. He’s been dropped 2lb since and fitness is unlikely to be an issue so he gets the nod ahead of Garry Clermont, another returning from a break but back over hurdles after a spell chasing in the autumn. Masters Legacy travelled strongly for a long way on his reappearance at Taunton and should be a factor if that run has blown away the cobwebs while Midnights' Gift can’t be ignored in an open-looking contest.
