Verdict

Not a strong novice for the track, but you can normally count on Monte Cristo to give you a run for your money. A consistent sort, he will certainly find this easier than when chasing the likes of Tysou, Hand Inn Hand and Azertyuiop, as he has done on his last three outings over fences. The northern raider Dene View may provide the biggest threat. Richard Fahey's eight-year-old, has only had four races over the larger obstacles and is clearly still open to some improvement. Royal Beluga may find the ground going against him, while Captain Zinzan is reunited with Mick Fitzgerald, who was aboard him when winning over hurdles at Doncaster, just over two years ago. This drying ground will hold no fears for him and he looks sure to go well, as does The Parsons Dingle, who found the ground too testing for him last time.
