Verdict

East Hill's best effort was a nine-and-a-half length fourth to Calling Brave at Kempton in November. Overall, he is not badly handicapped and might appreciate the slightly shorter trip than he encountered at Ludlow last time. Goldbrook's form is far from spectacular but he finished ahead of Sir Mouse (who runs in the first race on the card) at Taunton last time, so that might be worth bearing in mind. Formerly with Brendan Powell, Danimas was beaten in a seller last time having previously put in a fair effort when winning at Musselburgh. He has to be considered. The lightly raced Polish Cloud has been raised just three pounds for a good second at Newbury on March 1st, the third in that race - his stablemate Penny Pictures - having won since. Bell Tor's best effort came on his latest outing when second in a modest Fontwell event on soft going. Quiet Water has won two of his last four races, displaying a liking for good or faster going in the process. Zeloso's Hereford win reads as nothing out of the ordinary, while Diamond Monroe, from Nicky Henderson's stable, has shown little in three starts. Annie Byers has hinted at ability but, overall, is opposable. He will have to be produced late in the day but, given that the handicapper has hardly over-reacted to his Ludlow win, Quiet Water gets the vote.
