      Verdict

A typically-competitive renewal but it often pays to take a good look at Lincoln form. RIPP ORF was a fast-finishing fifth at Doncaster and is back on the same mark as when second on soft going at Ascot last year. David Elsworth’s five-year-old rarely runs a bad race and seems sure to be in the firing-line given luck in-running. Exec Chef is two from two here and made a promising reappearance when second in the Spring Mile but has gone up 5lb. Red Starlight is a filly with a touch of class and she will be all the better for her second in a Listed race at Doncaster while Ibraz remains unexposed. Northern raiders Escobar and Borodin both ended the last campaign in good form and the going will suit Fire Brigade, who will probably pop up in one of these before the year is out. Pattie and Chiefofchiefs are both fit from the all-weather but might struggle in this company.
