    Verdict

Cotton Eyed Joe returned to winning form in great style last time and can beat Acuzio and Edas in this competitive handicap. The selection was ridden well by today's pilot to come with a superbly timed run to beat Prince Des Neiges in a fast run race at Carlisle. He won more easily than the winning margin suggests and a six pound penalty may not stop him following up today. Acuzio came back to form at Chester last time and will not mind if there is any more rain. Meanwhile Edas has to be given a chance on the pick of last season's form, which included a close second at Wolverhampton last September off this same mark. The pick of the others could be Northern Boy, but now he has remembered how to win Cotton Eyed Joe should be followed.
