    In depth

    Verdict

In a tricky opener, Doubly Guest is preferred to Rowan River and Etain. Much as she has yet to fully build on her good to soft, mile juvenile success, the selection has not been disgraced in two runs this season, including over course and distance, and, with this being a fairly modest-looking contest, she can go well. Rowan River did well to hang on for third after setting a strong pace at Sandown last time and at least she has earned her rating. The flatter track today could also suit. Etain comes here representing maiden form and, with the runner-up from her latest race having won since, the form has at least been franked so she could go well. There are plenty of unexposed types amongs the others, including Little Miss Tara, who steps up in trip today, Spritza, who sHould appreciate the drop in trip today from Goodwood last time, and Summer Of Love, who should appreciate the drop in trip from Bath last time, while Miss Saafend Plaza will surely get her head in front one DAY. For the selection, though, we will stick with Doubly Guest.
