In depth

Verdict

Hamish McGonagall already had a run under his belt when making all to win this contest last year. He carries a penalty for that success today but still makes more appeal than stablemate Captain Dunne. The latter's form behind Tangerine Trees last year gives him something to find with today's rival BORDERLESCOTT and Robin Bastiman's sprinter should have a fitness edge after a comeback run on the Polytrack a fortnight ago. He's taken to repeat his 2008 victory in this given Bear Behind failed to add to his maiden win last year, though he did run well in defeat, and the remainder all have something to find on today's terms with Excel Bolt perhaps coming out best of them.
