In depth

Verdict

Mick Easterby's Emma Told Lies has done nothing wrong of late and has to be respected in her hat-trick bid but Granny Peel has been in fine form of late, winning her last three starts on different surfaces, and she is preferred with The Mighty Ogmore rated the best of the remainder. The selection has been doing her winning in selling and claiming company but has been impressive in those successes and should be more than capable in this grade. With Mick Channon's stable back among the winners, Stir Crazy has to be respected but he was well held at Newmarket last time so may be best watched, while Major Third has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated. Top Tier looks to be going the right way and would have to be considered although a 7lb penalty for her recent course and distance success makes life tough. The Mighty Ogmore is another going the right way and cannot be ruled out but Granny Peel has plenty going for her and she gets the vote.
