In depth

Verdict

There's little between several of these on official ratings but LIGHT THE LIGHTS arrives in excellent form and looks the one to beat. Mike De Kock's charge had Championship a neck behind in a Listed contest over the track and trip three weeks ago and the latter gave the form a real boost when landing a Group 2 last week. Earnshaw was over three lengths behind the selection last time and looks held while Gabrial was even further behind though the latter, who has won over the track and trip, is much better than he showed that day and is expected to get much closer. Farrier's close second to Tryster in the Group 1 Jebel Hatta over the course and distance last March was a tremendous effort and he had a nice run round last month while Elite Excalibur, a very smart performer in Australia and a winner in Singapore, will be better for his run behind Flash Fire though that was over 7f.
