Krypton Factor was one of the stars of last year's Carnival winning four times under Kieren Fallon including the Group 1 Golden Shaheen, his target again this season. He hasn't been seen since finishing a close sixth to Black Caviar in the Diamond Jubilee at Ascot in June and though he's the stand-out performer on this surface he could just need the run. MENTAL is yet another brilliant Australian sprinter who was last seen winning a Grade 1 at Flemington in November. That could just give him the edge and he's handed the vote. Tamaathul has been showing fine form on Turf though these speed merchants may have just too much pace for him and though Ganas has been in cracking form he couldn't quite handle the step up in grade last time and these are even classier rivals. Hitchens held a verdict over Krypton Factor last year and though he was behind him later his overall form puts him in the picture and he'll be much better for his recent run.
