In depth

Verdict

Doug Watson has three entries here. Zain Eagle, twice a winner in the UK, only had one run here in January and was well beaten but should do much better this campaign; Jeeraan was disqualified after landing a better handicap than this in February and would have an outstanding chance on that form, especially as he had stablemate Etijaah behind. Special Fighter won twice for Mark Johnston and again at the opening of Jinma Racecourse in China but it's the French import ZAMAAM who looks the one to be on. Erwan Charpy had a winner at Jebel Ali on Friday and though his charge has only had one run in the UAE he looks the type to go well this season and can open his account. Torchlighter was rated 99 after completing a double for Mark Johnston and is another expected to do better after three runs here last winter. Paene Magnus won five times for Jim Bolger, all at Dundalk, so if taking to this surface should prove a profitable acquisition for new connections.
