Verdict

DORKING BOY has been denied a debut by the weather on a couple of occasions recently so is obviously ready to run. His dam won a bumper on her racecourse debut and the booking of Richard Johnson by an in-form trainer suggests there will be plenty of confidence behind him today. Akarita Lights had little chance against the odds-on Bournville at Newcastle but along with Iwilldoit is open to improvement. Ballyellis has a nice pedigree and the 30,000 euros son of Shantou is worth a market check for a trainer who has a good record in races like this. The Bunnyman is a half-brother to winning hurdler/chaser Etania while Myplaceatmidnight won his debut here a little under a year ago but carries a penalty again.
