Providing the ground remains on the fast side of good, this looks an excellent opportunity for PEADAR MIGUEL to open his account over hurdles. Noel Quinlan's four-year-old was beaten 11 lengths by Fashionable Gal on his debut over timber at Huntingdon but finished clear of the odds-on Brunston and gets 10lb from Cygnet, who had been beaten by Brunston at Uttoxeter before winning a modest contest at Southwell. There probably wouldn't have been much between Barnack and Glancing over 2m4f at Southwell in April had the former not fallen three out and both may appreciate the drop in distance but Mathaaq is probably best watched after a lengthy lay-off.
