In depth

Verdict

NEW PROVIDENCE was sent off favourite at Worcester last year on his racecourse debut but faded out of contention in the closing stages. He should be a stronger animal this year and today's softer ground may also help. Mount Mews and Just Minded wear the same colours for different trainers with the former preferred given Malcolm Jefferson's decent strike rate in bumpers here while Sierra Oscar may have the edge over the Flat-bred Codeshare and the mare Brandy Burn. Point-to-point winner Indy Five represents last year's winning yard and debuts under Rules.
