Verdict

CHAMPAGNE WELL was just caught by a useful novice over 2m5f at Ascot last time having found 2m3f too short at Taunton on his hurdling debut. A winner over this trip between the flags, Fergal O’Brien’s charge should open his account over timber today. Mister Tickle, another winning pointer, was in the process of running a good race at Kempton when misjudging the third-last. Talktomenow was second to Getaway Trump at Plumpton in November but didn’t run up to that form next time at Warwick and Redzor stopped quickly on his latest start at Wetherby and has had wind surgery. Haydock third Halloween Harry was another to run poorly last time at Uttoxeter.
