In depth

Verdict

Outclassed, but not disgraced in the Group 3 Mill Reef Stakes, Crocodile Dundee is back at the right level now and can prove to sharp for the like of Mister Saif and Muy Bien. Jamie Poulton's colt had impressed when making a winning debut over course and distance when proving too strong for Benny The Ball, Unrivalled and Disengage, all who have won since. While he lacks the experience of some of his rivals, he is open to improvement and can prove too classy for his rivals. Mister Saif, who has done most of his racing at six-furlongs has struggled somewhat since landing a Folkestone Maiden back in September. A half-brother to mile winner September Harvest this trip should hold no fears for him. Muy Bien was entitled to beat Maunby Raver recently on favourable terms, but the latter has gone on to score since and with Frankie Dettori booked; he is worthy of plenty of respect. Course and distance winner Rise will need to put a poor effort behind her last time if she is to figure in this but that was her first outing for ten weeks and she may have needed it. Stonor Lady looks to have plenty on in this and may do better when she goes handicapping, but Geoff Wragg's Golden Drift is an interesting newcomer. There are plenty of winners in the family and if the market speaks in her favour, is one to note. However, even though there are sure to be plenty of these snapping at Crocodile Dundee's heels, he should prove too strong for his rivals.
