In depth

Verdict

It's a surprise to see Avoir De Soins over the minimum trip as he appeared to relish stepping up to 2m4f here a couple of weeks ago. He's up 6lb and, though today's conditions will make this a stamina test, he may find one or two of these too quick. Away For Slates was beaten a length over today's trip at the same fixture and a 3lb rise is negated by his rider's claim. Clondaw Storm has undoubtedly been disappointing though his last two runs have been over further which may not have suited. Robin Des mana is 2lb lower than his last victory but has been in poor form while CHAMPION CHASE is 0-25. However, the latter is best over this trip on heavy ground and is unlikely to get a better chance to lose his maiden tag.
