None of these have ever been noted for absolute consistency, so with that in mind, only a small stakes investment is recommended with Sungio, who edges out French Mannequin and Gravardlax for the nomination. The last named is unexposed at the trip but shapes as if he can figure strongly in a modest race like this. He stayed on well over a mile and a half at Southwell a fortnight ago and he could be the surprise package of the race if Brian Reilly can get him into a rhythm. French Mannequin enjoyed the switch to the Flat when winning at Wolverhampton last week. He picks up a 6lb penalty today though and he may find at least one has his measure on these terms. Which we think can be Sungio who, as a previous course and distance winner, has nothing to prove regarding the surface; or indeed today's trip. It remains to be seen if the seven-year-old has been revitalised for his recent switch to the Brian Baugh, so stakes should be kept to a sensible level with him for the time being; even though he appears to be the most reliable choice today.
