        Verdict

        The market is sure to prove a guide here, but with Kieren Fallon booked, Emily's Will may go close ahead of Slack Willy Hilly, with Danjet just another that is worth a mention. Today's Lingfield card looks very good indeed, and there could be one or two that will pay to follow from this opening event for newcomers. Mark Wallace generally knows the time of day, and when he books Fallon he usually means business, Emily's Will may be forward enough to go in first time. A daughter of Night Shift, she is related on the dam's side to some pretty speedy sorts, and has the right draw in stall one if she can get out handy enough. Slack Willy Hilly has been striding out well at Everleigh we hear but on breeding will want further in time, while David Evans has booked Jamie Spencer for Danjet, a half-sister to Malin who needed a mile, even as a juvenile. Of the rest, Angelina Banks may prove to be useful in time as her dam is related to high-class filly Topsy and Derby winner Teenoso. As stated, the betting may tell the tale, but Emily's Will gets our vote.
