Verdict

A decent finale can go to LORD CHANCELLOR who is selected ahead of Tinshu and Orsippus. On the face of things, the selection has a bit to do as he's 8lbs worse off with Mellow Mixture for the two and a quarter length beating that he handed out in a course and distance maiden. He did enjoy the run of the race but he also won as an odds-on shot should and it will be disappointing if he can't take a higher rank in due course. Doncosaque has enjoyed something of a peripatetic career so far and looks high enough in the weights but Orsippus has the scope to make his presence felt. He won a fair Goodwood maiden on his penultimate start, should enjoy this step up in trip and may well have strengthened up since his last start. Tinshu's maiden win wasn't a surprise in some quarters and connections expect her to progress with racing and to be suited by this trip. She can be found easier opportunities further down the line though and Lord Chancellor appeals as the one to be with.
