Verdict

ATLANTIC STORY has been found a wonderful opportunity to pick up a nice purse with just three rivals in opposition. Mick Easterby's gelding was the subject of a notable gamble in a valuable handicap over course and distance a week ago only for his weight to tell in the final strides as he was collared in the shadow of the post. He's the clear pick at the weights, has form in single figure fields and should take all the beating. Eisteddfod was beaten a long way in that handicap a week ago but his blindfold was removed late and the conditions of this race will be more to his liking. He should get the run of the race but is an infrequent winner these days. Carcinetto finished fourth in the same race as the other pair last week but has upwards of 9lbs to find with her rivals on these terms. She may provide Eisteddfod with come competition for the lead so should be well placed but has it all to do. Aeroplane has been kept busy since being claimed by David Evans and was due to run on Thursday. He has ability but needs everything to drop right and, regardless of how he fares earlier in the week, it's difficult to look beyond Atlantic Story.
