In depth

Verdict

Whilst it is scary to take on any Jeremy Gask horse at the moment, we will pass over Acrosstheuniverse and side with THEATRE STREET ahead of the consistent Comadoir. Jeremy Noseda's Invincible Spirit filly ran a good race on her debut at the track where she was fairly easy to back and went off at 8/1. Only beaten half a length, this half sister to a few winners (including prolific course winner Saville's Delight) is fancied to go one place better today. Keep Icy Calm will be handicapped after this start but it is interesting that connections turn to the headgear with Jamie Spencer up for the first time, whilst Acrosstheuniverse ran well on debut and should have learned plenty from that first run. Comodoir is officially rated 80; a drop back in trip today will pose no problems but the fact that he is winless in 10 starts means that punters should cover themselves with a place bet. Menhir Bay and Lana's Charm have both shown some ability in two starts to date, but Theatre Street is open to more improvement and is nominated accordingly.
