In depth

Verdict

MANCHESTERMAVERICK is given another chance to fulfil his promise in this handicap and he is nominated over Formidable Guest and Buscador. Hughie Morrison's four-year-old has yet to win a race but he has gone close several times and he is better than his bare form would suggest. He is a big strapping sort and he looks to have been found a good opportunity here to finally break his duck. He also has the benefit of a decent low draw and the yard have got a good strike-rate so far this year. Formidable Guest is back on a decent mark and she was able to take advantage last time out when she beat Bavarica at Lingfield. She had the run of the race that day and she has more on her plate today. Her high draw is another cause for concern. Buscador is a real course specialist and he proved his well-being when he chased home Ahlawy here last time out. The draw has not been kind to him tonight and this veteran campaigner will probably have to settle for a minor role. Rambling Dancer is better drawn and he won well last time, but the form is only moderate and he will need to take another step forward to win this. This is an open event and a chance is taken on Manchestermaverick.
