Verdict

Richard Hannon's HEAD DOWN gets the marginal preference ahead of Royal Executioner while Harty Boy looks next best. While Royal Executioner has every chance the selection should be all that sharper with his rival returning after a 175 day break. Hannon's charge has been knocking hard on the door in the last few starts, shaping like a winner in waiting. The form from his penultimate effort looks strong enough and the maidens tag could go on this first step up to a mile. Royal Encounter then will have a little fitness to find and also takes to the surface for the first time. He may find the polytrack just to his liking and if he does then chances are a plenty. Harty Boy shaped well enough on his first assignment and should come on for the experience. Bred to be better than this company he will be a challenger. Solution is an interesting newcomer from a yard in form while Green Destiny has claims on some average form but Head Down should get up.
