      Verdict

      MOONLIGHT SONATA is rated 2lb higher than Libbard and, being a half-sister to the smart Western Hymn, should stay 1m4f. She returns from a break but is probably the one to beat if fully wound-up. Libbard was second over this trip at Newmarket in May so maybe the drop back to 1m1f at Goodwood later didn't suit. However, she is now fitted with headgear which suggests her trainer thinks she's holding a bit back. Prescience was second over a slightly shorter trip here last month so can't be ignored but this looks a stiff task for Thecornishbarron on debut and the other pair have shown little so far.
