      Verdict

      Proposal can make the most of the weight that she receives from Cormorant Wharf, with Trifti also worth a mention. Proposal has started to show a bit of potential of late, and was not beaten too far when third against her own age-group here last time. Tony Carroll's filly can make the most of the weight that she receives from most of her rivals today to lose her maiden tag, aided by the fast ground on the Turf course. Cormorant Wharf is vastly more experienced, but three wins in 36-starts is hardly inspiring. He has in the main been confined to amateur riders' affairs over the past 12-months, but showed a bit of zip at Newbury last time, and today has the stronger handling of Jim Crowley to help. Trifti was upped markedly in trip here a fortnight ago, and was held up to get the trip, which he did not. This drop back in distance may still stretch his stamina, and a watching brief is advised, with preference for Proposal, who has more scope.
