Storyville may be up to making a winning debut, with Wotchalike, Kanad and Beauchamp Turbo also worthy of respect. The last three mentioned have hinted at ability in their limited efforts so far, but given David Loder's record with his youngsters in the past, it would be no surprise if Storyville, a Lujain colt related to a couple of winners, were to prove sharp enough at the first time of asking. The fact that he holds an entry in the Mill Reef and Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy hints at expectations, and let's face it, he would not need to be fully tuned up to take the beating. Wotchalike was not fancied on his Newmarket introduction but finished fifth to Windsor Knot, so should improve and may benefit from the drop back in trip, given the way he dropped away with a furlong to go. Kanad has had three outings already but has been off the track since June, while Beauchamp Turbo met traffic problems on his Polytrack debut here 12 days ago. Jockey bookings suggest that he is the most fancied of Gerard Butler's trio. Any money for Pickapeppa should be noted, but for the winner we return to Storyville.
