In depth

Verdict

Kauri Forest has plenty going for him and looks the answer in the finale, with Noora, Rubaiyat and Master Theo worth a mention. Kauri Forest owes his supporters big time, having been a beaten favourite on all three outings to date, but the overall form at the likes of Newmarket, Kempton and Doncaster make him the one to beat. He is bred to handle the Polytrack and that should stand him in good stead on his debut on the surface. In addition, he has Frankie Dettori to help which is no bad thing, and James Fanshawe's charge should put matters right today. Noora has been consistent enough as well, and with the stable in better form over the last month, she can make a bold bid for the frame at least, while Rubaiyat, another beaten favourite last time, may be helped by the drop back to a mile, having been caught in the closing stages at Wolverhampton. Master Theo is another consistent sort who came up against the useful Zameyla in softish ground at Leicester. He has experience on the Polytrack and so also enters calculations. However, if Kauri Forest adapts quickly, he should pay to follow and can help Frankie take a step closer to the title.
